SSH Telnet
Want to know what Telnet is and what it's used for?
SSH, or Secure Shell, is a network protocol that's used to connect to a web server and execute various tasks using a command line. The protocol is employed by many skilled users, as the data transmitted over it is encrypted, so it can't be intercepted on the way by a 3rd party. SSH access may be used for lots of things with regards to the type of website hosting account. With a shared hosting account, in particular, SSH is one of the ways to import/export a database or to upload a file if the website hosting server allows for it. In case you have a virtual or a dedicated server, SSH may be used for pretty much everything - you may install software or restart certain services including the web server or the database server which run on the machine. SSH is used mostly with UNIX-like Operating Systems, but there are clients that permit you to use the protocol if your laptop or computer is working with a different OS as well. The connection is created on TCP port 22 by default and the remote server always listens for incoming connections on that port although a lot of providers change it for security reasons.

SSH Telnet in VPS Servers
All our
VPS server packages include SSH access by default, so you won't have to include any upgrades or enable anything - the instant the server is set up and you receive its login details, you'll be able to connect via its main IP address and the login credentials which you have chosen throughout the signup process. Since the VPS accounts come with full root-level access, there aren't any restrictions in terms of the commands that you may run. Your server will be isolated from the other ones on the physical machine, so you shall be able to manage more or less everything through a command line, including server-side software installations and reboots. This way, you'll be able to work with your files, databases and any applications which you install in a fast and safe way.
