SSD with Data Caching
What's a solid-state drive (SSD)? What is SSD caching and how does it work? Check out the key advantages of hosting your Internet sites on an SSD-powered server.
A solid-state drive is much faster than any regular hard-disk drive. This is because an HDD uses rotating disks, that can rotate only so fast and the more information is read and written, the slower and hotter they become, while an SDD takes advantage of modules of flash memory, therefore there are no physically moving components. The access speeds for an SSD are much higher, which makes this type of drives an ideal solution any time speed is needed. This is the reason why SSDs are in many cases used for the Operating System on a desktop or notebook and for keeping data that is accessed frequently on servers. Many providers also use a combination of the two drives, so they store the data on hard drives, but they use several SSDs to cache the more often used data and as a consequence, the data loads much quicker while the load on the HDDs is decreased because their disks need to spin less frequently in order to read and write.

SSD with Data Caching in Cloud Website Hosting
Our innovative cloud web hosting platform uses exclusively SSD drives, so if you obtain any of our
cloud website hosting solutions, you will take advantage of the speed that these drives provide. We no longer use hard disk drives, so your files, databases and e-mails will all load from high-speed SSDs. For even improved performance, we use caching solid-state drives. Multiple drives are used by our system for each file which is accessed more frequently and the data on these drives is dynamically refreshed in order to make sure that all of the traffic-intensive files load from them. This way, the load on the primary drives is reduced, so we can provide excellent performance for all types of websites no matter how many times they are accessed and prevent a situation where some websites are affected by an excessive number of reading and writing processes created by others. This setup also improves the lifespan of the main drives and decreases the possibility of disk failure.

SSD with Data Caching in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you purchase one of our
semi-dedicated server packages, your websites will be stored on a cloud platform that uses exclusively SSD drives for the storing of files, databases and email messages. In addition to the advanced ZFS file system that we use, this setup ensures lightning-fast loading speed for any web application hosted on our end. To guarantee that the websites of one customer do not affect the ones of another, we also use a number of SSDs as cache - our system discovers files which are accessed more frequently and clones them, so they start loading from the caching drives. The content on the latter is refreshed dynamically and therefore we can balance the load on all drives, guarantee their extended lifespan, decrease the risk of disk failures and, of course, offer you a super fast and reliable web hosting service.
